Born on July 14, 1931 to the late Albert and Dorothy (Mitchell) McClure in Chicago, IL.
On July 1, 1960 Elizabeth was united in marriage to Kenneth G. Kirby. He passed away in 1999.
Elizabeth along with her husband, were the owners of The Sirloin Steak and Seafood Restaurant in Lawrence, Kansas.
She liked to write, which was her first passion. She authored a book about the adventures of a child with cerebral palsy, as well as a book of inspirational verses (her books are on Amazon). She was also an accomplished organist and pianist, serving many Church services.
Elizabeth will be deeply missed by her children, Kenneth (Vicki) Kirby, Jr., Barry Kirby (Onie) and Randall (Laura) Kirby; her grandchildren, Andrew (Brittney) Kirby, Laura Kirby (Mike Esch), Allison Kirby (Travis Hoying), Ryan Kirby (Marisa Christiano), William Kirby, Timothy Kirby, Bradley Kirby, Michael Kirby, Erin Kirby, Luke Kirby, Alyssa Kirby, Micah Kirby and Ethan Kirby; her great grandchildren, Cole, Maya, Genevieve, Calvin and Warren; her sister, Louise (McClure) McKenney.
Along with her parents and husband, Kenneth, she was preceded in death by her older sister, Mary Patricia (McClure) Gorrell/Phillips and her former daughter-in-law, Julie (Kamka) Kirby.
