Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintEileen M. Vieth, age 89 of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Hospice Alliance’s Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie.
Born in Norwalk, WI on April 9, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Catherine (Cushman) Flaig. Eileen was a graduate of Norwalk High School. She continued her education and received her diploma in nursing from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in LaCrosse, WI.
On December 20, 1948 in Norwalk, WI, she was united in marriage to Milton Vieth. They were blessed with five children and 64 years of marriage. Milton preceded her in death on October 11, 2013.
Eileen was employed with Kenosha Hospital as a registered nurse, retiring in 1986. Previously, she was employed with St. Francis Hospital in LaCrosse and Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she and her husband were instrumental in establishing the food pantry, along with other parishioners in 1985. Their food pantry later merged with the Salvation Army.
Eileen was a devoted and supportive mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She will be sadly missed by her four children, Kathryn Gould of Kenosha, Carl (Ann) Vieth of Maple Bluff, WI, Thomas (Debra) Vieth of Kenosha and Barbara (Tomm) Girman of East Troy, WI; her sister, Ila May Olson of Westby, WI; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Barbara Flaig of Ontario, WI and two brothers-in-law, Merlin Vieth of Norwalk, WI and Marvin (Elly) Vieth of Lake Bluff, WI.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eileen was also preceded in death by a son, John in 1952; a brother, Stanley Flaig and a grandson, Jonathan Gould.
Service Date September 9, 2016
Funeral Services honoring Eileen’s life will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 919 60th Street. Entombment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
