Ed was born on October 26, 1935 in Chicago, the son of the late Leon and Sedella (Pins) Streit. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Marquette University. He received his CPA certification on December 15th, 1964.
On September 1, 1956, Ed was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Rierdon at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Milwaukee, WI. In September of this year, they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage and a never ending love affair. Their union was blessed with three children.
A CPA for over 40 years, Ed was employed with Putta and Kelsey of Barrington, who later merged with RSM McGladrey.
A longtime member of St Mary’s Catholic Parish, Woodstock, his faith was strong and constant.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen; his children, Barbara (Gerard) Sieck of Chicago, Robert (Mary) Streit of LaGrange, IL and Mark ( Kathy) Streit of Park Ridge, IL along with eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas, who died at the age of 2 in 1933, and a granddaughter, Gabrielle, who died in infancy in 1988.
Service Date July 22, 2016
Funeral Services honoring Edward will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic, 312 Lincoln Ave., Woodstock. Private interment will be held in Hickory Cemetery, Suring, WI.
