Ed insisted on helping restore the Fredericksen #50 roadster, after it crashed hard and sat for decades, untouched. Ernie's sons bought the car and began the long road back. Ed was a crew member for Ernie, spending countless hours/days preparing the car and wrenching at the race track. He did a fabulous job of straightening out a badly damaged aluminum body that came to life back in 1959. Ed gave it yet another life. I asked him to sit for a photo and he lit up. It was a privilege to include him - an original crew member - on the restoration team of a historic car. We lost a real asset and terrific human being. We will miss him. Our thoughts are with his family...
