She was born in Rhinelander, WI on April 25, 1927 to the late Robert and Vira (Bolger) Schuelke. She was a graduate of Rhinelander High School and the University of Minnesota.
She was united in marriage to William G. Bennett on June 13, 1952 at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau, WI. They spent vacations in Minocqua, WI and retired there in 1995. They returned to Kenosha in 2003. After 58 years of marriage, William preceded her in death on October 11, 2010.
Dorothy was employed as a Radiology Technologist and worked for Dr. William Swift and part-time at American International Hospital of Zion, IL.
She was a former member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister. . Dorothy was a member of the St. Mark’s Holy Name Society, and the Kenosha Women’s Jr. Club. Dorothy volunteered her time at Kenosha Memorial Hospital, Meals on Wheels and Howard Young Medical Center in Minocqua. She enjoyed spending time playing golf and tennis at the Kenosha Country Club and was an avid bridge player.
Dorothy is survived by her three sons, Robert (Jean Tenuta), David and William K. (Michelle) Bennett; her six grandchildren, Sidney Brooke, Lexie Nicole, Jordan Rae, Hunter William, Parker William and Devon Nolan; and her cousin, Dr. Walter E. Gager.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John in infancy; and a sister, Marianne Crowns.
Service Date February 5, 2016
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2224 30th Ave. Private inurnment will take place in All Saints Cemetery.
