He was born in Ascoli Piceno, Montegallo, Castro, Italy on April 29, 1936, to Manilio and Marianna (nee: Lappa) Marotti. When he finished school, he left his village for Rome at the age of 15. He started working at a Limo service working his way up to be a chauffeur. At eighteen he joined the Army (he served with Pavoratti) where he was a chauffeur. Upon his discharge he returned to Rome and became a chauffeur for Diplomats along with actors and actresses. Domenic came to America in 1968 at the age of 32. He was the second oldest of six children and the last to come to America where he settled in Kenosha. He met Mary M. in May of 1978.
His first employment in Kenosha was with Bindelli Construction for 10 years, and later worked for Platt Construction in Franklin, retiring in 1998.
He enjoyed many of the Italian traditions, had a very very large garden, handmade 50 gallons of wine each year, sausage, liver sausage and lonza. Domenic and Mary loved to entertain with family and friends and enjoyed many trips back to Italy where Domenic was very proud to show off his country.
They put thousands of miles on their car driving throughout Italy and visiting many friends and relatives. In 2016, Domenic was staying in Castro when the earthquake hit, this devastation broke his heart along with his village because he would end his trips in Rome a few days before coming home.
Domenic is survived by Mary of 46 years; brother, Rudy; numerous cousins in America and Italy and very close cousin, Domenic Romozzi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Gaetano, Agnesina and Giuseppe.
We want to say thank you to Hospice House of Pleasant Prairie for the wonderful care given to Domenico during his stay. They were all caring, kind and efficient and so helpful, to name a few, Traci, Charisa, Sophia and Marissa were fantastic.
Per Domenico wishes services were held privately.
