I was friends with Mary Diane England from school, McKinley Elementary and Jr. High, but we parted ways when we went to separate high schools. She was one of the nicest people I've ever met--happy, fun, and so kind. We visited each others' homes, and her mother, Mary Maxine, was so sweet and welcoming. Some of her Southern dishes were so exotic to me! Knowing Diane, I'm sure she made a good life for herself and for those she loved. I am sorry this world lost her so early.

It is hard to believe it has been over three years since my friend, Diane Bernhardt, went to Heaven. She was my childhood friend since I moved near her home in the mid-1960's. I also came to know Tom and was so thankful God gave her such a wonderful husband. My wife also came to know Diane and Tom and we had several wonderful visits whenever we came to Kenosha to see family and friends. Over the years, Diane and I had many warm phone conversations as we recalled childhood memories and discussed what was happening in our families. Having a friend like Diane is rare and a very precious treasure. The Bible says to store up treasures in Heaven, rather than on earth. That being the case, I have a very wonderful treasure in Heaven with Diane being there. I look forward to seeing her again, along with her mom, dad, and brothers.

Bernie, We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Diane. When we think of you as a couple we have such pleasant memories of smiles and laughter. We know she’ll be deeply missed but take comfort that Diane lived a full life that was well lived. May our Lord bring you peace and strength in the difficult days ahead. With deep sympathy, Tom & Linda Gaudio
