Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintDennis (“Pete”) Piepenburg, age 78, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at United Hospital Systems-Kenosha Campus.
Born on August 23, 1937, in Burlington, WI, he was the son of the late George and Clara (Kamen) Piepenburg. He attended schools in Kenosha County and was a graduate of Wilmot High School.
Dennis honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1958 during the Korean War.
On October 8, 1962, in Kenosha, Dennis was united in marriage to Lorraine Tareski. They were blessed with four children and 44 years of marriage. Lorraine preceded him in death on October 10, 2006. On November 11, 2011, in Kenosha, he was remarried to Peggy M. Prober.
Dennis enjoyed Peggy’s company and everlasting love.
Dennis dedicated himself to his career in law enforcement. Over the years he was employed with the U. W. Parkside, Paddock Lake, Pleasant Prairie and Twin Lakes Police Departments. After retirement, he was employed as a trip officer for the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, transporting inmates.
Dennis was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286 and the former P.L.A.V. George Washington Post #34.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Peggy Piepenburg; his two daughters, Karen (Douglas) Saulys and Pamela (Donald) Wipfli; four grandchildren, Michael, Amber (Tony LaCombe) and Ryan Saulys, and Heather (Matthew) Janssen; three great grandchildren, Maxwell John, Maizy Rose, and Matlynn and his best friend, Ron (Barb) Ernst. In addition, he is survived by his loving dogs, Sherman and Randy.
In addition to his parents and his first wife, Lorraine, Dennis was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly; a son, Michael and sisters, Betty and Joan.
Service Date October 20, 2015
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 beginning with a prayer service at 11:15 a.m. from the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. A Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4817-7th Avenue. Interment with full military honors will take place at 2:00 p.m. in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring Street Union Grove, WI.
