Born on June 2, 1956, in Sturgeon Bay, WI, he was the son of Vernon and Carol (Haen) Ewaskowitz. Educated in Milwaukee, Dennis was a graduate of Alexander Hamilton High School and also attended Milwaukee Area Technical College.
On August 22, 1981, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sandy Holmes at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Lake, IL.
Dennis was employed as a sales representative with American Hospital Supply, Baxter Healthcare, Nielsen Wheel, M&M Supply, Caster Corp. and at the time of his death Payson Casters.
A devout Catholic, Dennis was an active and faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister and lector, as well as, serving on the parish council and also attended their weekly men’s group.
Dennis was a true sports fan, living by Vince Lombardi’s quote, “Think of only three things: your God, your family and the Green Bay Packers-in that order.” He loved the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers, and playing golf. Dennis was an Elvis Presley fan, his favorite movie was “It’s A Wonderful Life” and he couldn’t go without his coffee creamer. Above all, Dennis’ life changed when he became a proud “Papa”.
Dennis will be deeply missed by his wife, Sandy; his two daughters, Crystal (Joel) Shirley and Jeni Ewaskowitz; his two precious grandsons, Brayden and Tyler Shirley; his mother, Carol (Ken) Schultz; and his siblings, Cindy (Chris) Elgeti, Susan (Tom) Nowak and Dan (Carrie Krueger) Ewaskowitz.
Dennis is further survived by his brother-in-law, Craig (Pam) Holmes; his sister-in-law, Susan (Glenn) Tranter; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and his beloved canine companions, Max and Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon on October 4, 1980; and his father and mother-in-law, Leonard and Minnie Holmes.
Dennis would be so proud of the fact that his death meant life for countless others as he and his family made the decision to donate his organs.
