Born in Mauston, WI on April 30, 1949, he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Geraldine A. (Bohen) Powers. In 1962, Dennis moved to Kenosha with his family. He was a 1967 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.
For many years, Dennis was employed as a painter.
Dennis had a huge heart and would take the shirt off of his back to help others. He was a great inspiration to his family and friends. One of his greatest accomplishments was his total devotion and loving care he gave to his ailing father. Dennis had a special bond with his brother Greg and his grandchildren. He found great joy in making charitable donations; especially to “Walk in My Shoes”. He enjoyed spending time reading, watching movies especially westerns and being with his family. Dennis was a great mechanic that could fix anything with a motor.
Dennis is survived by his daughter, Rachel (Donald Dumas) Hennessey; his special friend, Jody and her daughter, Alisha; his four brothers, Bernard (Lynette), Thomas, Gregory (Janine) and Patrick Powers; his two sisters, Cheryl Bates and Maureen (Brian) Anderson; and his four grandchildren, Abby, Wyatt, Jordon and Jadon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Cox; and a brother, Danny Powers.
Service Date November 20, 2015
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. Private inurnment will take place in St. George Cemetery.
