Born on March 1, 1951, to Burton and Ida (Nerling) Klemp. On September 20, 1980, she married David Thrush and they spent nearly 39 happy years together creating memories.
Debbie lived a life full of simple pleasures. Debbie was a sports fanatic and unwaveringly cheered for the Brewers and Bucks, but absolutely despised football. Unaware of the internet, she would send game schedules in the mail to her nieces. She enjoyed watching movies and soap operas, coloring, writing stories (often smutty), listening to the Beatles and Elvis, painting her nails (usually a shade of green), and traveling. Above all, Debbie cherished her time spent with family.
With a witty sense of humor, inappropriate terms of endearment, and a stubborn streak, Debbie always brought a smile to those around her and will be dearly missed.
Debbie is survived by her siblings, Paul Klemp and Diane (Berdell “Joker”) Briggs; sister-in-law Lorna Klemp; and a large and loving extended family, including nieces and nephews: Carri (Glenn) Grant, Jeremy (Shauna) Klemp, Tricia Klemp, Amanda (Dan) Briggs Kania, Stephanie Klemp, Katie Briggs, and Megan (Bob) Ernst and 8 great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary Klemp.
Debbie’s family would like to thank the incredible staff at An Innovative Care Adult Family Home for their kind words, care, and support of Debbie for the past 5 years and during her final days with us. We are grateful that Debbie was able to create such wonderful memories with the staff and her housemates during this time.
Howdie Doody!
