Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintDawn M. Dukas, age 53 of Kenosha, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, from a brave battle with glioblastoma multiforme.
Born in Kenosha on September 29, 1964, she was the daughter of Donald A. and Judy (Clark) Stanek. A proud milestone in Dawn’s life was when she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business in May, 2016, from Carthage College.
On June 16, 1984 at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church, she was united in marriage to Wayne Dukas. They were blessed with three exceptional children. Their union was later dissolved.
Dawn was employed for 25 years as a Clinical Document Specialist with Abbott/Abbvie Labs.
She was a devoted and proud mother and grandmother. Her family was her world and being with them is when she was the happiest. Many lifelong memories were made during family vacations to Hayward. Dawn will be remembered as a humble, kind hearted and compassionate soul.
Dawn is survived by her three children, Danielle (Vincent) Leo, Jennifer (Kevin) Jordan and Derek (Trisha Rowland) Dukas; her mother, Judy Stanek; her grandchildren, Elise, David, Kevin “KJ” and Kaleb; her brother, Scott (Lori) Stanek; and her sister, Laurie (Scott) Smet.
She is further survived by her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends; her former father and mother in law, George and Margaret Dukas; and her canine kid, Daisy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Stanek; an infant brother; her paternal grandparents, Albin and Ella Stanek; and her maternal grandparents, Emo and Selina Clark.
Service Date September 26, 2018
Funeral Services honoring Dawn’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
