Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintDavid George Schani, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Froedtert South-Pleasant Prairie.
Born on August 25, 1949, he was the son of the late George and Edna Schani. David graduated from Tremper High School in 1968, he received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and earned his master’s degree from National Louis University.
On August 26, 1972, at St. George Catholic Church, David was united in marriage to Janet Werwie. He was a member of Journey Church and hosted a weekly prayer group at his home.
David was employed as a health and physical education teacher at Tremper High School for many years along with a few years at Lincoln Jr. High. He taught a total of 34 years. In addition, he was an adjunct professor with Carthage College for over 10 years. He was also a former diving and gymnastics coach for Kenosha Unified School District.
He earned his black belt as a member of Yin-Yang Do Karate Association. David was a former gymnast for Tremper High School and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse; he enjoyed watching the Packers and Tremper High School football games, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
David will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Janet Schani; his children, Julie (Erik) Schlick, Dan (Lisa) Schani, Jaclyn (Brandon) Turner and Ashley (Kyle) Learned as well as his grandchildren, Sydney and Evan Arneson, Shelby Schlick, James, Will and Abbie Schani, Taylor and Lacey Turner and Tatum Learned.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his stepmother, Louise Schani and his in-laws, Joseph and Esther Werwie.

SERVICE LOCATION Journey Church
Funeral services honoring David’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Journey Church., 10700 75th Street, Kenosha, WI. The service may be viewed on the following link https://youtu.be/ruBL2x5b6J8.
Interment will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery.
A visitation for David will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
