Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintDarlene D. Jensen, age 78 of Kenosha, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Froedtert South-St. Catherine’s Campus.
Born in Kenosha on November 3, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Gladys (Wade) Heckel. She attended local schools and was a 1957 graduate of Bradford High School.
On February 1, 1958, she married the love of her life Richard Jensen. They were blessed with 57 years of marriage.
For nine years, Darlene was employed as a secretary with St. Catherine’s Hospital.
Darlene was a former member of First Christian Church. From 1971 until 1977, Darlene and her husband Richard volunteered as chaperones with American Band and Tremper High School Band.
Her many hobbies included boating, snowmobiling, waterskiing, bowling and fishing. For 20 years, she enjoyed camping in Rio, WI. Darlene and Richard made eight trips to Disney World. Their greatest most memorable trip was made when they took their entire family to Disney World for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Darlene enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debra (Gregg) Owens and Jill Jensen; her five grandchildren, Brian (Jaime), Timothy (fiancé Andrea Sinozich), and Daniel (Kaitlyn) Owens, Nicole (Jacob) Lawler and Wendy Gerlach; and her six great grandchildren, Jack, William and Mackenzie Owens, and Aiden, Avery and Andi Lawler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Jensen in 2015.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Knight and the angels at St. Catherine’s Cancer Center for the compassionate care they provided, as well as the many other St. Catherine’s medical staff who helped throughout her illness.
Service Date April 17, 2018
Funeral Services honoring Darlene’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. Private entombment will take place in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
