Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintDaniel R. Lannoye, age 74 of Pleasant Prairie died on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at United Hospital System – St. Catherine’s Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Racine, WI on February 1, 1941, he was the son of the late Vernon and Joan (Madsen) Lannoye. As a child, in 1945 he moved with his family to Waukegan, IL. In 1952 they made Kenosha County their home.
In his younger years, Dan was a Longshoreman at the Kenosha Harbor. He then became a Merchant Marine for many years, sailing the Great Lakes. During those years he also worked for various trucking companies.
In the 1990’s, Daniel became a self-employed businessman in Idaho and he continued his business when he returned to Kenosha in 1998.
He was a skilled automobile mechanic, repairing cars for family and friends.
Daniel was always helpful to family and friends. Many people often came to him for advice. He was known for his fun and free spirit. Daniel had a keen interest in international politics and the workings of government and financial institutions. He was an intelligent, resourceful hard working man.
He is survived by his four brothers, Gilbert of Somers and James, Tim and Terry Lannoye of Pleasant Prairie; his two sisters, Cheri and Lucinda Lannoye of Pleasant Prairie; his nephew, Justin (Shereen) Lannoye; his great niece, Sophia; his great nephew, Joaquin; several aunts and uncles; and 32 cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Joseph Lannoye; several aunts and uncles; and a cousin, Michael Lannoye.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue.
