Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintDaniel G. Galley, age 71, of Kenosha, passed away unexpectedly due to complications of heart surgery at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee on Saturday, June 13, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 12, 1943 in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Daniel L. and Jean M. (Rosing) Galley. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he attended St. Mary Elementary School and was a 1961 graduate of the first full four year class at St. Joseph High School.
On September 14, 1964, in Kenosha, Daniel was united in marriage to Lezley Nelson. Their marriage was dissolved in February of 1978. On October 14, 1983, he was united in marriage to Roberta Peterson-Parker in Kenosha.
Daniel was employed at Clean Towel Service in Somers for 13 years. Starting as a route driver, he later became a route supervisor and finished his tenure as branch manager. He also worked as a senior sales representative for various companies in the stud welding industry for over 33 years, retiring from Nelson Stud Welding in February 2009. Following his retirement, he went on to obtain his Class-A (CDL) Commercial Driver’s License. He was employed part-time with the Village of Pleasant Prairie (Rec Plex) driving a bus in their Discovery Program and After School Program, as well as, working part-time for Palmen Buick-GMC-Cadillac, Inc., in Kenosha as a car hiker.
Daniel was a former President of the Somers Snow Busters Snowmobile Club in the early 1970’s, a member of the American Welding Society for 33 years and the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286 since 1982. Daniel and Roberta loved their time at their summer home in Pardeeville, WI and as a member of Mis-Shifts Classic Car Club, enjoyed attending car shows with his 1979 Red Corvette, “Baby”.
Daniel will be deeply missed by his wife, Roberta; their three sons, Michael D., David J. (Chynee Lewkowicz) and Matthew A. (Dave Turnquist) Galley; a daughter, Aaron R. (Tom Van Caster) Galley and step-daughter, Tania (Russell) Krimpelbein. He is further survived by a sister, Kathleen Galley Robertson; a brother, Michael J. (Gina) Galley; 14 grandchildren, Sarah Lynch, Adam Galley, Sarina and Sara Rosmann, Marilee and Amber Nichols, Tyler, Marie, Devinn and Caleb Galley, Michael, Zachary and Jacob Hyde and Andrea Krimpelbein; 5 great-grandchildren, Aiden and Collin Lynch, Lukas Oliver and Monte and Mia Rice as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by an infant son, John Ira Galley; two brothers, James L. and Robert L. Galley and a grandson, Cameron James Frechette.
Service Date June 18, 2015
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015, beginning with a Moose Lodge Breaking of the Circle service at 6:30 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue.
