Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintCorey Cherico “Punkin” Thomas, age 43 of Kenosha, formerly of Chicago, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at his residence.
Punkin was born on June 29, 1974, the son of Jesse Thomas and Ruth Hale. He attended Nash Elementary and graduated from Austin Community Academy High School in Chicago.
He was a former member of the St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Chicago and was employed as a manager for Leamington Foods grocery store for 10 years. Punkin moved to Kenosha in 2000 where he was working at Mann Public Warehouse for nearly 20 years as a warehouse supervisor and security at Coins Sports Bar.
For three years, Punkin was in Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed paintball, singing and rapping.
Punkin is survived by his mother, Ruth; his daughter, China Jones; his grandson, Josiah; his siblings, Jimal (Theresa) Hale, Daniel Jackson and Danielle Hale, all of Chicago and his loving 8 nieces and 6 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse, his brother, Andre and his grandparents.
Service Date September 15, 2017
Funeral services honoring Punkin’s life will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, WI. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery.
