Born on October 31, 1928, she was the daughter of Robert Hamilton and Gertrude (Fontaine) Hamilton/Ryan. She graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1946.
On September 5, 1949 she was united in marriage to Harold (Jeff) Jeffson. He passed away on April, 1 1959. On December 2, 1960 she married Werner (Lefty) Strunk. Sadly he passed away on May 20, 2010.
Cherie was a dedicated mother to her children and worked part time for KUSD/Jefferson Elementary in the cafeteria. She enjoyed gardening, taking photos, watching old movies and listening to old music. Most of all she loved her dogs.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Noreen) Jeffson, Nancy (Dennis) Andersen, Scott Strunk, Chris (Kathy Jespersen) Strunk, Mike (Linda) Strunk; her daughter-in-law, Theresa Swisher; her grandchildren, Gary (Jenne Hoelscher) Jeffson Jr., Kim (Kyle) DeWitt, Tracey Andersen, Kristen Andersen, Stefani Strunk, Allison Strunk, Amanda Strunk, Mackenzie (John) Rosal, Frank Fisher, Andy Fisher, Jennifer (Tony) Santelli and Jeff (Carolyn) Strunk; her great grandchildren, Vincent, Andrea, Cameron, Caden, Julia, Joseph, Gavin, Jakob, Kamden, Maeve, Adrian, Elena, Samuel, Nash and Seraphina.
Cherie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Hamilton and Gertrude Ryan and Frank (Rynie) Ryan; her husbands, Harold (Jeff) Jeffson and Werner (Lefty) Strunk; her son-in-law, Dennis Andersen and her grandson-in-law, Tony Santelli
Per Cherie’s wishes, no services will be held.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of her love of animals, memorial remembrances may be made to a humane society of your choice.
