Born on October 19, 1923 in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Charles and Anna (Kunza) Zaloga. He attended local schools and was a 1941 graduate from Mary D. Bradford High School.
From March, 1943 until February, 1946, he honorably served in the U.S. Army Air Force. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant with the 78th Army Air Force Base Unit as an Administrative Non-Commissioned Officer. He received the American Theater Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Charles received his Bachelor of Science Degree in June, 1949 from the University of Illinois Commerce School. His major was in economics.
From 1950 until 1985, Charles was employed in industrial engineering at various plant locations with The Simmons Company. Charles retired from their Janesville Plant location in 1985 and lived in Janesville since 1981.
Charles enjoyed golfing in his younger years and reading. He had a special love of cars and was especially interested in new styles and concepts.
He is survived by his niece, Cathy (Troy) Boyington and her children; daughter, Ammy and sons, Robert and Nicholas; and his great great niece and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard in 1995 and Robert in 1996.

Funeral Services with full military honors following will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, 6211 38th Street.
