Born in Fulton, Mississippi on July 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Benson and Faye (Delaney) Gregory. She moved to Kenosha as a young woman. Carrol loved her Mississippi roots and in 1990, she moved back to her home state. In 2013, she returned to Kenosha to be near to her children and grandchildren.
She was united in marriage to Leslie James Barden, II. Their union was blessed with two children. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1978. Carrol was then united in marriage to Richard Works. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2002.
Carrol was a devout church attendee. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting in her spare time. Always thinking of others, Carrol gave her beautiful creations to her family and donated them to those less fortunate than her. Carrol liked playing bingo and going out to eat. Her life was complete when she spent time with her family; especially her loving grandchildren.
Carroll will always be remembered by her son, James (Michele) Barden; her daughter, Lisa (Randy) Bourdeau; her grandchildren, Jacob, Samantha, Kaila, Joe, Adam and Jared; her brother, Johnny Palmer; and her uncle, Joe Delaney.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Darlene Palmer.
Carrol’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of Celebre Place and Grande Prairie Health and Rehab Center. The exceptional love and care they provided will never be forgotten.
