Born on November 10, 1959, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Joan (Seiberlich) Sunderland. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha County. She graduated from Reuther High School in June, 1979 and became a CNA in 1985.
On May 2, 1978, she was married to David Culver, Sr. They were married for twelve years until they divorced. Following their divorce they remained close friends and attended all functions, putting family first.
Carol devoted her life to helping people in both nursing homes and through special education.
Carol loved spending time with her grandkids, watching old movies, Scooby Doo and reading her favorite author, Stephen King. She was compassionate, loving, and the life of the party.
She will be deeply missed by her three children, Rachel (Josh) Fleming, David Culver, Jr. and Phillip (Kristina Del Frate) Culver; her six grandchildren, Andrew, Moriah, Nathaniel, Hans, Larz, and Gianna; and Phillip and Kristina’s baby on the way.
Holding her close to their hearts is her sister, Brenda (Karim Saied) Sunderland; her brothers, Mark, Ed (Laura) and Chris (Colleen) Sunderland; her eight nieces and nephews, and her great niece and nephew.
Service Date June 1, 2017
Funeral services honoring Carol’s life will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. Private interment will take place in Lake View Cemetery, Alvin, WI.
