Born on January 7, 1945 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late John and Alice (Madison) Minski. She graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1963 and earned her medical assistant degree from Career Academy in Milwaukee in 1964.
On July 3, 1965 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Edward J. Wendel. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year.
Carol was employed as a medical assistant and worked for several doctors in the Milwaukee and Kenosha areas throughout her career. She most recently was employed with Drs. Richards, Meeter, and Milken. Carol left her profession in the mid 1980’s to focus on raising her family. She later worked part-time for her husband’s business, Bear Insurance Agency, Inc.
She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church and was a previous member of the Kenosha Garden Club, Kenosha Symphony League and Rotary Innerwheel.
Carol’s greatest love and joy was her family and taking care of her home and pets. She loved flowers, and spent much time during the summer months planting and tending to her gardens. She also was an avid cook and baker, and always focused on health and physical fitness.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Wendel; her two daughters, Nicole (Todd) Wimmer and Holly Wendel; her four grandsons, Christian, Andrew, Benjamin, and Nathaniel; her great-grandson, Oliver; her brothers Jack (Beth) Minski, Robert (Sue) Minski, and Donald (Karen) Minski; and her brother-in-law Chuck Golwitzer,
