Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintCarl Frances Acerbi, Jr., age 93, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Northwest Health-Porter Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Carl and Sophie (Urban) Acerbi, Sr. He attended St. James Catholic School and attended Kenosha Vocational School.
Carl proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as Corporal until his honorable discharge in 1953. He received 3 Battle Stars and 4 Service Medals: United Nations, U.S. National Defense, U.S. Army Korean Service and Republic of Korean War Service.
On July 9, 1954, Carl was united in marriage to Barbara Nelson in Waukegan, IL.
Carl was employed as a Polisher for 37 years with Snap-On, retiring in 1990.
First and foremost, Carl loved his family. He was a movie enthusiast, liked going to Las Vegas, gambling, and enjoyed photography.
Carl was many things to many people, a son, loving husband and father, a supportive brother, caring grandfather, a dear friend, and kind neighbor. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Barbara Acerbi of 69 years; his children, Jeff (Laura) Acerbi and Dawn (Paul) Sciarra; his grandchildren, Paul and Michael Sciarra; his siblings, Robert (Sharon) Acerbi and Gigi (George) Acerbi.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his brothers, Peter Acerbi and Tom Acerbi; and his sister, Dolores Sommers.

A visitation for Carl will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the Piasecki Funeral Home.
Funeral services honoring Carl’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the funeral home.
Interment with full Military Honor’s will follow in Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Cemetery.
