Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintBilly H. “Bill” Anderson, age 69 of Pocahontas, TN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt, TN.
Born in Aberdeen, MS on June 13, 1947, he was the son of the late Conde Robert and Ruth (Benton) Anderson.
He attended Tremper High School. His father-in-law and best friend, Mario Vite and Bill attended Gateway Technical College and enjoyed a few beers after class. They worked towards receiving their high school diplomas.
He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. Bill was proud to have been a part of the Honor Guard at President Dwight Eisenhower’s funeral.
On May 2, 1970 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Terry Vite.
Bill was employed and retired as an over the road truck driver for Trek USA and Birchwood Transportation.
He was a talented self-taught guitar player. Bill enjoyed the time he spent volunteering to entertain the residents at various nursing homes.
Bill will always be remembered by his loving wife of 46 years, Terry Vite-Anderson; his three sons, William (Dana), Scott and Michael Anderson; his three grandchildren, Matthew Hanrahan, Miles Anderson and Stella Anderson; his brother, Jerry (Kathy) Anderson; and his sister, Arlene Adams.
He is further survived by his brothers-in-law, Edward (Brenda), Michael (Cheryl), Charles (Debra) and Louis Vite; and his sisters-in-law, Judith and Barbara Anderson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Wahlon Johnson, his brothers, Thomas, James, William Joel and Robert Wayne Anderson; his brother, Eddie Johnson; his sister, Darlene Johnson; and his canine companions, Monty and Maxwell.
Service Date October 19, 2016
Funeral Services honoring Bill will be held on Wednesday October 19, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery.
