I’m so sad about this loss. Florence and Cassandra and family, I well know how special Bev was to this world. My dear Beverly Gilbert. You were one of the kindest souls this planet ever knew. You never had an unkind word to say about anyone. I met you 36 years ago when I was just 15 at the time. You were often like a mother to me and all your other young Great America staff. We laughed, sang, danced, threw parties, attended each others' weddings. Singing on stage and taking third place in the No Talent Contest with you, Mike DeNinno, Chris Evans and Eric Morris is one of my finest memories. We rehearsed and practiced so much and though I was nervous, you had my back and we shared the mic. You convinced me to get up early and play softball at 7:00 am all summer. No one else could've done that. We worked hard and enjoyed ourselves at the same time. You made work a pleasure while still ensuring it was done well and right. It never really felt like work because of you and your leadership and friendship. Some of my most wonderful memories include your smile, witty sayings and that gorgeous laugh. Even when you had to give me bad news, you always did it in such a way that I could feel sad, yet still comforted. And you always took the time to listen to us, and offer advice or give a hug. You taught me so much and you took the time to laugh with me as you did it. You trained me well, then trusted me to be in charge of others. I spent more time with you than with my own family for 4 years and I'm so very grateful for those moments. I will always treasure that time and our lovely friendship. I tried really hard to get back in touch with you over the past 6 years and only wish I'd been able to sit down and really talk to you and reconnect with you again. You were a constant gardener who nurtured the souls of others to make the earth a better place. Much love to you on the other side, my dear, sweet friend. Love to your family and friends. Rest peacefully.

My heartfelt condolences to the family. May you find a measure of peace in God’s promises. The Bible calls Jehovah God “the source of life”. (Psalm 36:9) The One who gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to your dear Beverly.

I was so sad to hear the news that your sister Beverly passed away. I remember the family stories of Beverly you used to tell on the van; and what a fabulous cook she was. Sending you a big hug, Flo and family.

If Only You Could Have Stayed Written By Catherine Lamberton Constantly thinking, never to be the same. The tears fall quickly just hearing your name. Silence is golden, yet not anymore. Silence brings thoughts I just can't ignore. The nights are sleepless, dreams out of reach. Crying in my pillow to you I beseech. Surrounded by family, I still feel alone. My heart is so empty. This pain I must own. I wish I could hug you and just see your face. But now I have memories to stand in your place. Gone but not forgotten, that's what they say. Of course that is true... but if only you could have stayed.
