Born in Eau Claire, WI on October 24, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Charlotte (Karow) Ringhand. She was a graduate of Augusta High School. After high school, Betty continued her education and received her Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University in Eau Claire. After graduation, Betty used her knowledge and taught American Secretarial Science in the country of Colombia.
On October 5, 1964 in Augusta, WI, she was united in marriage to Michael Rasmussen. Together they owned and operated Hardware Hank in Waterloo, WI.
Betty was employed as a legal secretary with Quarles & Brady Law Firm.
She was an avid reader and jigsaw puzzle solver. Betty dedicated herself to her family and she was always available to lend a helping hand. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Betty will always be loved and remembered by her husband of 54 years, Michael Rasmussen; her two daughters, Bethany (Richard) Lofgren and Jennifer (David) Potter; her two brothers, Eugene Ringhand and Richard “Dick” (Sandy) Ringhand; her five grandchildren, Benjamin (Gabrielle Mann), Krystal and Nicholas Lofgren and Camille and Lena Potter; and her great granddaughter, Lilliana Lofgren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon Colvin and Alice Lowman.
Service Date January 27, 2018
A Memorial Service celebrating Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, 2313 17th Avenue.
