Born on July 13, 1919 in Wausau, WI, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Aurora (Lemke) Billington.
Betty was previously united in marriage to Francis LeSage and Earl Heckendorf. On October 25, 1980 at Presbyterian Church in Wausau, she was united in marriage to Ewald Berghammer, Sr. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1997.
She was employed and retired from AAA as a travel counselor.
She was raised and educated in Wausau and moved to Kenosha in 1998. She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star # 92, a member of VFW #388 Ladies Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose Lodge #75.
She is survived by her sons, James (Darlene) and Jerry (Sandy) LeSage and Bart (Wendy) Heckendorf; her daughters, Kathryn (Mike) Kluever and Susan (Corbin) Seeber; her step-children, Andy (Vicki) Berghammer and Sandy (Phil) Reindfleisch; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Eileen Kuehl and Edyth Billington; and her great grandson, Bryce Thomas Heckendorf.
In accordance with Betty Jane’s wishes, funeral services will be held in Wausau, Wisconsin at a later date.
