Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintBarry Jon Freitag, age 51 of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Aurora Medical Center, after a long illness.
He was born in Kenosha on May 23, 1965 and was the son of Barry L. and Marita M. (Krueger) Freitag. Barry was educated in Kenosha schools and was a 1983 graduate of Tremper High School. He was an accomplished baseball player from little league all the way through high school and beyond to Indian Hills Community College.
He was employed for 20 years with Rust-Oleum in Pleasant Prairie. Barry was a dedicated worker and loved his job.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Barry had a huge passion for fishing. He was delighted to have fished on the Mississippi River with his father, uncles and his godchild, Mitchell. Barry will forever be remembered as a compassionate, generous man who was always willing to help others.
He is survived by his mother, Marita Freitag; his aunts, Heidi (Thomas) Marcoe and Brigitta Krueger (Sister Gretchen O.P.); and his cousin, Lisa Thomas along with her children, Taryn, Logan and Mitchell Thomas.
He is further survived by several step-brothers and step-sisters and his cousins in LaCrosse and Onalaska, WI.
He was preceded in death by his father, Barry L. Freitag in 2014.
Service Date March 10, 2017
Funeral Services honoring Barry’s life will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4817 7th Avenue. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
