Born in Kenosha on October 11, 1925, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Alma (Splet) Schiller. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local private schools, attending St. Luke’s and Freiden’s Evangelical Lutheran Schools.
In 1944, Arnold enlisted in the U. S. Navy, serving in the Pacific until his honorable discharge in 1946.
On December 6, 1947, he was united in marriage to Gloria Michetti in Waukegan, IL. They were blessed with four children and 69 years of marriage.
Arnold was employed with Nash/AMC/Chrysler Corp., as a mechanic in Department 834-final repair, retiring with 43 years of service in 1988.
He had a passion for airplanes and through a G.I. Bill, took flying lessons and received his private pilot’s license and later joined the Lake County Flying Club. Arnie took advantage of his hobby by taking family and friends on many flights, leaving behind a legacy of lasting memories of time spent in the air. He was also a self-taught, jack of all trades, never needing to hire a handy man.
Later in life, Arnie refocused on his faith. Attending the Kenosha Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he was working towards becoming baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Gloria; their four children, James Arnold (Claudia) Schiller, David Alan Schiller, Janice Lynn Cantrell and Richard Michael Schiller; four grandchildren, Julie Battersby, Steven and Scott Schiller and Laura Hufen; and four great-grandchildren. Arnold was further survived by his twin sister, Evelyn Pabst and his younger brother, Edward (Marilyn) Schiller.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Olga, Lena, Elsie and a brother, Emil.

Funeral services honoring Arnold’s life will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 7333 Green Bay Road. Entombment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
