Born in Raseiniai, Lithuania, she was the daughter of George A. and Eleanor A. (Monkus) Pocius. She attended St. Peter’s Catholic School and was a 1937 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.
On July 4, 1937 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Bernard S. Tolstyga. After 67 years of marriage, Bernie passed away on August 31, 2004.
She was a faithful member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Antoinette was a talented seamstress. She liked to sew, knit, crochet, needlepoint and other crafts. She enjoyed bowling and loved the opera. In 1980, she retired from Jane Vernon Physical Therapy Department.
She will be missed by her daughter, Barbara Tolstyga; her daughter-in-law, Susan (Ron) Maier; grandchildren, Anne, Lynne and Laura; and great grandson, Devon.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bernie, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Madison; her son, Ken Tolstyga; her sister, Stella Alisauskas; and five brothers, Raymond, Bronislovas, Antanas, Boleslovas and Jurgis.
Service Date February 28, 2018
Funeral Services honoring Antoinette’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 2224 30th Avenue. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
