Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintAnn M. Hughes, age 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Sebring Assisted Care Residence in Madison.
Ann was born on July 27, 1930, in Kenosha and was the daughter of Joseph C. and Julia F. Mayer. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Kenosha High School.
She married her husband of 56 years, Norman R. Hughes, on April 15, 1950. They made their home in Kenosha where they raised their two sons. Ann was a loving stay-at-home mother for her boys. She loved to watch and support her sons, and eventually her grandchildren, play sports.
She was a long-time member of the former St. George Catholic Church, and later St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kenosha.
Ann was employed with Kenosha Unified Schools until moving to Onalaska and then Madison to enjoy retirement.
Ann will be lovingly missed by her two sons, Michael (Lori) of Madison and Jeffrey (Nancy) of Scottsdale, AZ; her grandchildren, Adam, Ashley, Casey and Charlie; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norman; her sisters, Jeanne Mauzy and Francis Mayer; and her brother, James Mayer.
Ann’s family greatly appreciates the care and compassion provided to Ann by the staff of Sebring, and Agrace Hospice Care, both of Madison.
In accordance with Ann’s wishes, private funeral services and interment will be held.
