Born on February 5, 1930 in Marathon City, WI; she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Marguerite (Resop) Hornung.
Angie attended schools in Marathon City and after moving to Kenosha in 1959, earned a teaching degree from Gateway Technical School.
On September 20, 1958 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marathon, WI, she was united in marriage to Lavern Scheffler. He preceded her in death on August 4, 2009.
Angie was a teacher’s aide assisting students who had learning disabilities at Zion-Benton High School.
A member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Angie was strong in her faith. She was a former member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she had been active in various Christian Women’s groups.
An avid flower gardener, planting flowers brought her much joy. She enjoyed baking and cooking in abundance so there were always leftovers. Mostly she adored her family.
Angie is survived by her son, Jeff (Linda) Scheffler of Kenosha and her daughter-in-law, Nancy Scheffler of Tulsa, OK; her grandchildren, Stephanie, Matt, Tony, Laura and Jennifer and three great grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Marella (Don) Ruedinger of MI, Ron (Sandy) Hornung of Kenosha, Carol (Don) Kinney of MN and Allen (Elsiena) Hornung of Wausau, Kathy Gruber of Milwaukee, Bonnie (Jerry) Bates of PA and Terry (Joanne) Hornung of Marathon City along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Angie was preceded in death by a son, Stephen on March 29, 2011.

Service Date August 1, 2014
Funeral Services for Angie will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church 7400 39th Ave. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at church for Mass. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
