A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was born on July 22, 1928 and was the son of the Nicola and Maria (Bonadeo) DiCello. Angelo attended Bain, Frank, Roosevelt and McKinley Elementary Schools, and Bradford High School. In 1947, he pursued classes in transportation and traffic control in Chicago where he received his high school diploma through the Chicago Vocational School.
Angelo proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1947 until his honorable discharge in 1949. He was with the 1st Infantry Division and guarded military supplies and military personnel throughout occupied zones of Germany and trained in infantry warfare and tactics. He received the Occupation Medal.
He was united in marriage to Patricia M. Pellerin. Sadly, she preceded him in death on January 13, 2001.
Angelo was employed with AMC/Chrysler retiring as a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor. Prior to AMC, he was employed with Samuel Lowe & Company and the Frost Company. After his retirement, Angelo was employed with 1st Bank Southeast, P.A. Staffing, Dairyland Greyhound Park and Kenosha Achievement Center.
He was a member and Chaplain for the former Elks Lodge #750 of Kenosha, Danish Brotherhood Lodge #14 in Kenosha, Kenosha Moose Lodge #286 and the Racine/Kenosha Traffic Club.
He is survived by his two children, William DiCello of Prescott, AZ and Anna (Gordon) Hudson, his grandchildren, Brooke (Paul) Frye and Gordon Hudson, Jr., and Stephen and Ian (Fiancé Sara Schroeder) Hammond and a great granddaughter, Ivy Rose Hammond.
In addition to his parents and wife, Patricia, he was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas DiCello; a daughter, Susan DiCello; his brothers, Anthony and Michael DiCello, and his sisters, Rose Ruffalo, Niccoletta Putra and Jeanette Macara.
Service Date November 11, 2016
Funeral services honoring Angelo’s life will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 beginning with a prayer service at 11:15 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720-39th Ave., Kenosha, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2224 45th Street. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
