Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintAlice Lorraine Hagerty, age 93 of Burlington, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Aurora Memorial Hospital – Burlington, with her family by her side.
Born in Escanaba, Michigan on February 12, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Eric and Martha (Andersen) Hagman.
On December 11, 1943 in Racine, she was united in marriage to LeRoy F. Hagerty, Sr.
From the 1960’s through 1978, she was a secretary with Great Lakes Naval Base. Previously, from October, 1942 until January, 1944, she was employed as a Clerk-CAF-3 with the F.B.I. in Washington, DC.
Alice was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church. She also dedicated herself as a Most Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star #92, J.U.S., The Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and The Grand Rep of Illinois.
She is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Michael) Lawler and Colleen (Arthur) Steinhoff; two sons, Eric (Patty) Hagerty and LeRoy Hagerty, Jr, fifteen grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; her daughter, Renee Johnson and brother, Lawrence Hagman.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Aurora at Home Hospice and Aurora Memorial Hospital –Burlington for the compassionate care they provided.
Service Date February 1, 2018
Funeral Services honoring Alice’s life will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. The Order of the Eastern Star will conduct services at 4:30 p.m. Private entombment will be held in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
