Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintAlfred “Fritz” Schmidtke, age 90, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away at the Hospice House on Monday, November 3, 2014.
Born on May 1, 1924, in Königsberg, Germany, he was the son of the late Johan and Marianne (Reich) Schmidtke. Raised and educated in Germany, Fritz served in the German Army from 1942 until 1945, moving to the U.S. and Kenosha on April 13, 1954.
On February 9, 1946, Fritz was united in marriage to Elfrieda A. Knabe. They were blessed with two children and 68 years of marriage.
For 13 years, Fritz owned and operated Schmidtke Plumbing and Heating. Prior to starting his own business, he was employed with Kaelber Plumbing and Heating.
Fritz was a member of Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church and was also an active member and past President of MGV Harmonia.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Elfrieda; their two sons, Helmut (Victoria) and Harold Schmidtke; four grandchildren, Kyle (Tammy Harris), Kara, Kate (Phill Estep) and Fritz Schmidtke and two great grandchildren, Holden Estep and Kyra Schmidtke.
In addition to his parents, Fritz was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Service Date November 8, 2014
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5038 19th Avenue. Entombment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
