Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintAldo S. Gentile, age 84 of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at United Hospital System Kenosha Hospital Campus.
Born on August 13, 1932, he was the son of the late Leonard and Assunta (Junio) Gentile. He attended local schools and was a 1950 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. He and his twin brother, Anthony, received scholarships to play football at Northeast Mississippi Junior College. In 1963, he graduated from Lake Forest University with a degree in Economics.
Aldo served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He entered the service on December 11, 1952 and was honorably discharged on December 1, 1954.
On June 2, 1956 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, he married LoAna Torgerson.
He was employed by Simmons Company, Fansteel Metallurgical Corporation, and AMC/Chrysler, where he retired in 1988 as a supervisor in the Planning and Material Control Department. He was a member of the AMC/Chrysler Supervisors Club.
Al loved playing golf, bowling, and watching sports on every level, especially the Packers. He was active in coaching his son in Little League baseball and basketball. After retiring, he and LoAna traveled often, having fun sightseeing or visiting their daughters in Texas and California. In recent years, he enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas on multiple occasions with his Niece and Nephew.
Survivors include his three children, Cynthia (Dane) Stanley of San Francisco, CA, Theresa (Jeff) Novelen of Dallas, TX, and Michael (Barbara) Gentile of Downers Grove, IL; four grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, Jason, and Luke; step-grandchildren, Angela, Kennon, and Brandon; and great-grandchild, Eliana.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, LoAna and by three brothers, Albert, Alfred, and Anthony Gentile; and by three sisters, Helen Fani, Mary Ann DeMarino, and Edith Virgili.
Service Date December 30, 2016
Funeral Services honoring Aldo’s life will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following a time of remembrance at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919 54th Street. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
