December 5, 2024 until February 20, 2025
Thursdays from 5:30pm-7:00pm | Piasecki Carriage House | 3903 Washington Road, Kenosha
The holidays can be an especially challenging time for those who are grieving, as they often bring a flood of memories and emotions tied to loved ones who are no longer here. In Kenosha, Wisconsin, where family gatherings, traditions, and community events are a big part of the holiday season, the absence of a loved one can feel particularly pronounced. The joy and togetherness that others experience can amplify feelings of loneliness, sadness, and even guilt for those who are grieving.
Piasecki Funeral Home and Journey Church Partnership
A support group, like the GriefShare program offered in partnership between Piasecki Funeral Home and Journey Church, can be a lifeline during this difficult time. These groups provide a safe and understanding environment where people can share their feelings, memories, and challenges with others who are going through similar experiences. In Kenosha, where community ties are strong, joining a local support group can offer the added comfort of connecting with neighbors who understand the unique aspects of grieving in this area.
Support groups also offer practical tools and strategies for coping with the holidays. Through guided discussions, videos, and workbooks, participants can learn how to navigate traditions that may now feel painful, create new memories that honor their loved ones, and find a sense of peace amidst the holiday chaos. For those in Kenosha, attending a local support group means not only receiving emotional support but also fostering connections that can help them feel less alone during the holiday season and beyond.
Our team has worked closely with Journey Church course coordinators, Diane Cesnovar and Karen Lawrence, to create a course schedule that begins on Thursday, December 5th with “Is This Normal?” and concludes with a “Remembrance Celebration” on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
If you’re facing the holidays without a loved one, joining a support group can be a valuable step in your healing journey, offering both understanding and hope in a season that can otherwise feel overwhelming.
With the addition of this course, Piasecki Funeral Home now offers three different outlets for families to consider after the funeral as they navigate the changes in their lives following the loss of a loved one.
